Release
of Barney Saltzberg's compact disc SOCCER MOM FROM
OUTER SPACE followed publication of his picture
book of the same title by almost a year and was
worth the wait. Equally at home with a rock beat
(Shopping with My Dog) and a country-western twang
(Backyard Cowboy), this cheery collector of family
moments both meaningful and mundane is as much
a songwriter and musician as an author and illustrator.
His 14 story songs sashay from a tuneful rendition
of Soccer Mom to the rousing I Want a New Toy and
tender Kiss the Moon and Stars Goodnight.
